(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On the morning of April 20, at Dinh Tien Hoang Elementary School - Middle School - High School (in Bien Hoa city), Dong Nai Newspaper, in collaboration with universities and colleges in the province, organized the 2024 Career Counseling and Enrollment Program with the theme "High-Quality Human Resources for Dong Nai".

In his speech at the event, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung stated that high-quality human resource training is an urgent requirement because the current labor market is in great need of a workforce with professional qualifications, high skills, proficiency in foreign languages, and good soft skills.
The Long Thanh International Airport project is expected to commence operations by the end of 2026. When operational, this project will require nearly 14,000 workers, including more than 2,200 workers with intermediate and college qualifications, over 3,800 workers with primary qualifications, and the rest with university, master's, doctoral degrees, and unskilled labor.
In addition, Dong Nai province is one of the localities with the highest number of industrial parks in the country, with 32 industrial parks already in operation. The province's direction is to prioritize attracting high-tech investment projects, applying modern technology, protecting the environment, using fewer unskilled labor, and promoting automation.
According to statistics from the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, from the beginning of 2024 until now, there have been 600 enterprises in the province that have a demand for recruiting 65,000 workers.
Regarding human resource training, Dong Nai province currently has more than 20 universities, colleges, and vocational schools. In recent years, universities and colleges have continuously innovated their training programs, striving to meet the labor market's demands both domestically and internationally. Currently, some institutions are at the forefront of training human resources for the Long Thanh International Airport. Additionally, they have strengths in training in robotics, automation, semiconductor design, and healthcare-related professions - fields that are currently facing a shortage of skilled workers.
Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung requested that the schools provide accurate and honest information about the quality of their training programs, tuition fees, learning environment, collaboration with businesses, and other policies to ensure that parents and students have a comprehensive understanding when making future choices.

This not only helps students determine their career paths but also contributes to the successful implementation of the province's political tasks, further enhancing the quality of training and providing high-quality human resources for the labor market in the province and the country as a whole. The provincial leadership has requested that Dong Nai newspaper consolidate all the opinions of the delegates, especially those of the students, and provide suggestions for the province to develop policies and programs for the future high-quality human resource development in Dong Nai.
Regarding the policies supporting students pursuing higher education in Dong Nai, in 2023, the Dong Nai branch of the Social Policy Bank provided loans totaling VND 182.5 billion to over 5,000 students. In the first quarter of 2024 alone, the bank provided loans worth nearly VND 72 billion to nearly 3,000 students.
The provincial leadership has also requested the provincial Bank For Social Policies system to study and advise the Provincial People's Committee on developing specific policies for Dong Nai regarding credit programs for educational purposes to timely support learners. The province has also assigned the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs to study and propose policies to support tuition fees for children in Dong Nai, especially for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung emphasized, "As they stand at the threshold of their lives, after 12 years of basic education, many students and their families are uncertain about which path to take. Some may choose to pursue academic studies, while others may choose vocational training right away. But regardless of their choices, I firmly believe that the ultimate goal for them and their families is to obtain stable and sustainable employment with good incomes in today's labor market, which is experiencing significant fluctuations. Through today's career counseling session, I hope that students will make suitable choices based on their abilities and strengths to secure the best career opportunities in the future."
