(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On the afternoon of April 24, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Vo Van Phi, conducted a field survey of the resettlement areas and social housing for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway project in Bien Hoa City.

According to the provincial leadership, they visited the Binh Minh Resettlement Area in Trang Bom District, where approximately 150 plots of land are available for immediate resettlement of the affected residents. They also conducted on-site assessments and discussions with two companies, Cuong Thuan Idico Development Investment Corporation and An Hung Phat Corporation, regarding the progress of the social housing apartment project for households who do not meet the requirements for resettlement.
According to the provincial departments and local authorities, the most challenging issue in the land clearance process for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway project is resettlement and housing support for affected residents. Previously, the province had proposed allocating a portion of the Loc An - Binh Son resettlement area, but this option was not approved by the central government. The two proposed resettlement areas in Phuoc Tan and Tam Phuoc by the People's Committee of Bien Hoa City have not yet completed the necessary procedures for implementation. Therefore, new resettlement areas and social housing are needed to meet the project's timeline, which requires the province to work tirelessly for 30 consecutive days to handle compensation and land clearance tasks.

At the conclusion of the working session, Vice Chairman Vo Van Phi agreed to add approximately 150 plots for resettlement in Trang Bom District to the compensation, support, and resettlement plan. The provincial leadership requested the departments, sectors, and the People's Committee of Bien Hoa City to concentrate resources on land clearance tasks. Specifically, the provincial departments will advise the province on swiftly resolving any issues related to adjusting the investment direction of An Hung Phat Joint Stock Company, assessing and selecting investors for the social housing project by Cuong Thuan Company, and developing temporary resettlement policies for those who do not qualify for permanent resettlement. The People's Committee of Bien Hoa City will carry out public awareness campaigns and mobilize residents to hand over their land for the project.
The two aforementioned companies will collaborate with the provincial departments to expedite the necessary procedures for the commencement of the social housing project, ensuring adequate housing for the affected residents.
