(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On March 28, the provincial People's Committee organized a meeting with foreign direct investment (FDI) businesses in the province. The conference was attended by Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Thanh Son, Member of the Provincial Standing Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Cao Van Quang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Hoang Thi Bich Hang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang, as well as leaders of departments and agencies in the province.

The conference was attended by nearly 400 delegates, including Shin Choong IL, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City, and Furudate Seiki, Deputy Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City. Representatives from businesses, trade associations, and European businesses in Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan were also present.
In 2023, FDI in the province reached approximately 1.23 billion USD, an increase of over 11% compared to the annual plan of 1.1 billion USD. This includes 81 newly licensed projects with a total registered capital of over 467 million USD and 94 projects with increased capital totaling over 761 million USD. To date, the province has nearly 1,600 FDI projects with a total investment capital of over 34 billion USD. In the first quarter of 2024, Dong Nai issued investment registration certificates for 21 new FDI projects with a total investment capital of over 252 million USD, and adjusted investment registration certificates for 129 projects, including 23 projects with increased capital totaling over 268 million USD.

Speaking at the conference,

emphasized that the conference served as a bridge for the province to listen to
the aspirations, proposals, and recommendations of the FDI business community,
as well as trade associations and business associations. Through this, the
province aims to promptly receive and find solutions to overcome difficulties,
provide guidance, and address issues and proposals raised by businesses.

In 2024, Dong Nai will continue to implement the strategy of attracting environmentally friendly industrial projects that utilize advanced and clean technologies, contributing to the preservation of the ecological environment and creating high-value-added products that make significant contributions to the state budget. Therefore, the province hopes that FDI businesses will continue to be united and share their experiences in effectively implementing the guidelines and policies of the Party, as well as the legal framework of the country, to achieve the economic and social development goals of the locality.

The conference received opinions and recommendations from businesses regarding the procedures and timelines for construction permits, repairs, and power outages without prior notice from management agencies. The progress of land expansion and handover in some industrial zones was also addressed. Representatives from the provincial leadership, departments, and relevant agencies provided specific answers to the issues raised by businesses.

Based on the opinions and recommendations from FDI businesses, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Thanh Son requested that the provincial People's Committee actively consider and direct relevant departments and agencies to quickly propose solutions and resolve difficulties and obstacles. According to him, the meeting and dialogue between the government and businesses aim to create a better investment environment that is more favorable for businesses. Dong Nai always recognizes that FDI businesses are an important part of the local business community, making significant contributions to the province's socio-economic development.
