TTDT - On the afternoon of March 31, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung chaired a conference to meet foreign invested enterprises (FDI) in 2023.

At the dialogue, businesses focused on reflecting on issues such as: roads in some industrial parks such as: Long Duc, An Phuoc (Long Thanh district), Dau Giay (Thong Nhat district), Amata (Bien Hoa City)... degraded, overloaded but slow to be upgraded and invested. Some industrial zones had difficulties in recruiting local workers, lack of housing, schools... for workers.

In addition, some businesses expected to be supported and guided for quick implementation on fire prevention registration procedures; residence certificates. Import-export issues, related procedures updated promptly when the law changed; the process of handling VAT tax refund dossiers was long and had some shortcomings; unplanned power outages; dust in the construction of the Long Thanh airport project affected the production activities of enterprises as well as the health of workers.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung assessed that the conference of direct dialogue between the government and businesses had properly implemented the motto of accompanying with businesses. There were 12 opinions of businesses exchanging directly and many written questions related to the difficulties and obstacles of enterprises in the actual business and production at the conference.

At the Conference, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee have recorded all the comments and directed right after the meeting, the Department of Planning and Investment would chair a working session on infrastructure issues of industrial zones, review and report to the Provincial People's Committee for handling. Particularly for Long Duc Industrial Park, Long Thanh district People's Committee requested to immediately maintain and repair the traffic road to the Industrial Park. Regarding the slow processing of documents and procedures, departments and agencies must review the implementation process to ensure that information provided to businesses in a timely manner, providing the best support for businesses.

It is known that by the end of 2022, Dong Nai has attracted investment from 45 countries and territories with 1,559 projects with a total investment of nearly 33.3 billion USD. In 2022, there were many challenges but the total capital to attract new investment and increased capital in the province was 1.15 billion USD, equaling 94% over the same period and increased 5% compared to the plan. In which, 50 new projects with a total registered capital of nearly 495.4 million USD, increased 29% compared to the same period. FDI enterprises have made efforts to implement solutions to retain workers while waiting for production to be restored, thereby, generating nearly VND 13.9 trillion in state budget revenue, accounting for 32% of total budget revenue of the province. Export turnover reached nearly 18.3 billion USD, accounting for 74% of the province's export turnover.
