(News Portal – Dong Nai) On the afternoon of August 29, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference on tourism development in the province. Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung, Standing Deputy Head of the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee attended and chaired the conference.

Report on the results of implementing Plan No. 89/KH-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Executive Committee on developing tourism into an important economic sector, Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Loan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that in recent times, localities have drafted plans to develop tourism into an important economic sector and closely follow the contents of the Resolution and Development Plan on developing the province's tourism. In the first 7 months of the year, Dong Nai welcomed nearly 1.8 million visitors, an increase of nearly 26% over the same period in 2022. Tourism service revenue reached over 1 trillion VND, an increase of 37.5% over the same period. The conference also received 11 comments from delegates who are tourism, travel and destination businesses, suggesting that provincial leaders' support for tourism in form of development policies, tax support, and capital sources for enterprises to invest in tourism products.
Speaking at the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh requested the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee to pay attention to developing tourism to become one of the three important economic pillars of the province (industry, agriculture, tourism). Accordingly, it is necessary to pay more attention to developing tourism infrastructure, ensuring criteria for safe and smooth traffic, internet connection, ensuring electricity and water factors...; tourism planning must be integrated with the province's general planning to build tourism projects with a variety of products, to keep tourists staying longer and increase tourist spending. For the field of agricultural tourism, there needs to be temporary regulations to develop tourism on agricultural land. Lands that do not have agricultural advantages can be piloted before expanding.
In addition, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee that by 2025, Dong Nai tourism will accelerate and “take off" with the aviation industry. Accordingly, from now on, the province must develop specific projects and plans to submit to the Provincial Party Standing Committee for early consideration.
