(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On the afternoon of August 29, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Phi chaired the conference "Connecting consumption of products certified with good agricultural practices (GAP) in Dong Nai province" with the participation of leaders of departments, representatives of People's Committees of districts and cities, Cooperative Alliance, Provincial Farmers' Association, businesses and cooperatives that produce and consume agricultural products inside and outside the province.

Currently, the province has over 2,7 thousand hectares of key crops
certified for safe production, an increase of more than 700 hectares compared
to 2022. In addition, the province is implementing the construction of 80
organic production models with a scale of nearly 1,5 thousand hectares of
crops. Regarding livestock farming, up to now, the province has 125 farms and 7
cooperative groups that have been certified with VietGAP. Total VietGAP certified
meat output is over 124,6 thousand tons; the total production of commercial
chicken eggs certified by VietGAP is nearly 283,2 thousand eggs. As for
seafood, there are currently 14 VietGAP certified farming areas in the
province, corresponding to an output of nearly 15,3 thousand tons of products.
The current difficulties of GAP certified products being wholesaled through supply
chains are few. Most of the products sold to traders have no price difference
compared to normal agricultural products, so they have not created incentives
for producers to re-certify.
Recently, local departments and offices have paid attention to supporting and
connecting the consumption of GAP products through many trade promotion
activities such as: supporting households producing key exported agricultural
products to be GAP certified and listing them on the e-commerce platform;
promoting the development of agricultural and rural digital economy; strengthen
the promotion of GAP certified products through information channels, fairs,
exhibitions, trade conferences, connecting supply and demand... both domestically and internationally;
Maintaining and upgrading agricultural information websites; building and
effectively exploiting the agricultural product market information network,
connecting with wholesale markets, business organizations, and agricultural
product trading organizations; facilitating and developing consulting
activities and supporting farmers in trade promotion and consumption of GAP
products.

products
Vice Chairman Vo Van Phi assessed that the province had implemented the
GAP program effectively, clearly demonstrated the pioneering of farmers,
cooperatives and businesses in the current difficult economic situation.
Thereby, helping safe quality products enter the market and reach consumers,
contribute to improving people's lives and to the overall economic development
of the province.
In the near future, the province will continue to set a high goal for the
program: by 2025, the value rate of GAP-certified agricultural products will
reach 25%. Of which, the value rate of GAP certified crop products reached 15%,
equivalent to 219 thousand tons of GAP certified products. The value rate of
livestock products certified by GAHP reached 30%, equivalent to a total output
of 226 thousand tons of pork and chicken. The value rate of GAP certified
aquatic products reached 35%, equivalent to about 20 thousand tons of seafood.
To achieve the above goal, synchronous implementation with the active
participation of authorities, businesses, cooperatives and farmers is needed.
In particular, advertising, trade promotion, and media coverage for safe
products need to be promoted better.
