But from the beginning of the year until now, the prices of many fresh fruit products such as jackfruit, dragon fruits, bananas, mangoes... have been continuously standing at high levels.

Many fruit products sold at good prices thanks to the recovery and growth of the export market. In particular, the big market is China, which is opening up exports after removing the Covid-19 quarantine barriers. In addition, many fresh fruit products of Vietnam have been officially opened for import by this market.
Many kinds of high priced fruits
In the 2022-2023 crop year, banana farmers have had bumper crops because they have had both good seasons and good prices when the export price of green bananas has always been stable at a high level of 11-15 thousand VND per kiligram, the price giving banana farmers good profits.
Mr. Tran Bat Quang, a farmer growing bananas for export at Cay Gao commune (Trang Bom district) said that in the past few years, local farmers had switched to growing green bananas for export because this kind of plant was currently belonging to the top in terms of economic efficiency. Trang Bom district also had the advantage of attracting many traders and businesses investing in packing and purchasing right at the growing areas. This year's harvest, bananas are in good seasons, from the beginning of the crop until now, the price of bananas has always been stable at high levels, so banana farmers have achieved good profits and assured to invest in production.
From the beginning of the year until now, traders have been racing to buy export fruit products such as mangos, bananas, jackfruit, dragon fruits ... to export to the Chinese market. Accordingly, the prices of the above fruits are constantly increasing, there are times when the prices become expensive.
In the early 2022, many local dragon fruit farmers raced to cut down this kind of tree because the price of dragon fruits was so cheap that it could not be sold. The reason was that after the Covid-19 epidemic, China implemented a zero Covid policy with a series of measures to tighten quarantine, causing a halt in agricultural exports to this market. After the Chinese market reopened, the price of dragon fruits kept increasing. Near the Lunar New Year 2023 up to now, the price of red flesh dragon fruits has always stood at a high level, sometimes reaching about 40,000 VND per kilogram but traders have no fruits to buy.
Jackfruit is the kinf of fruit with the most recent high price. Mr. Nguyen Van Dong, a farmer growing jackfruit at Bao Binh commune, Cam My district shared: "Nearly 2 months ago, the price of Thailand jackfruit suddenly increased to 45-48 thousand VND/kg, 6 times higher than from 6 to 7 times over the same period last year. This is the highest price increased in the past few years. At this price, jackfruit farmers are making huge profits."

The export market is expected to remain open
From November to April every year is the golden time of exporting fresh fruits because many countries, including China, cannot produce in Winter. This is the competitive advantage of Vietnam's fresh fruits in general and Dong Nai province in particular when farmers master the techniques of crop production to supply the export market.
According to many fresh fruit exporters, from the beginning of the year until now, the export of fresh fruits has grown strongly. In which, China is still the main consumption market.
Mr. Ta To Tuong, CEO of Sofia Shanghai International Trade Co., Ltd (Binh Duong province), the enterprise has associated with banana purchasing establishments for export in Dong Nai province said that the enterprise has had experience in importing fresh bananas from Vietnam in the past 10 years. In recent years, Vietnam's growing banana industry has been constantly developing, the quality and taste have been also constantly improving; increasingly meet the needs of the international market. Mr. Tuong compared: “In the past, we imported hundreds of containers each year, but now we have increased to thousands of containers. This is a clear demonstration of the rapid growth of Vietnamese bananas in the Chinese market. In the coming time, Vietnam's banana industry still has strong export prospects to China neighboring market thanks to the advantage of geographical location as well as quality.
With the same opinions, Ms. Lieu A Kieu, Director of Kelly Sangle International Co., Ltd., an enterprise investing in banana packaging factory at Thanh Binh commune (Trang Bom district) said that the position of Vietnamese fresh bananas in the international market was growing. The proof is that in the recent last 3 to 5 years, Vietnam has dominated the banana market in China and surpassed its heavyweight competitor, the Philippines.
