On March 13, the Government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha had a practical inspection and worked with the People's Committee of Dong Nai province and related units on the progress of the Long Thanh international airport project and a number of highway projects being implemented in the province.

Receiving and joining the delegation to Dong Nai province were Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc and leaders of departments, agencies and sectors of Long Thanh and Nhon Trach districts.
Reporting to the Government delegation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung said that: Dong Nai completed the procedures for compensation and support for the area of 2,532 implementing phase 1 so far. In which, for the area of 1,810 to build Long Thanh Airport in phase 1, there are currently 18 households have not been relocated. For these households, Long Thanh district was carrying out propaganda and advocacy work and would complete the handover of this area in March 2023. Similarly, with more than 15 hectares remaining uncompleted, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung also said that the locality would make efforts to complete the handover in March 2023.

For the project of 2 routes connecting Long Thanh Airport, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung said that: Dong Nai gave special priority to route 1. Currently, Dong Nai was carrying out procedures to determine land price to apply and pay for the people and complete the handover the ground in May 2023. At the same time, Dong Nai was also making efforts to handover the ground for route 2 together with route 1.
For the construction investment project of Long Thanh Airport phase 1, according to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), in February 2023, ACV proposed the Ministry of Transport to report to the competent authorities for permission to adjust the completion time of component 3 project in 2026. On that basis, ACV adjusted the time for contract performance of package No. 5.10 from 33 months to 39 months.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha assessed that: the site clearance was the issue determining the project progress. Therefore, Dong Nai needed to closely follow the directions of the Prime Minister to determine the right time to hand over the ground.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Long Thanh Airport was a construction of the century, so it must be done "for a lifetime", must choose reputable contractors who had done large and commensurate works in the world. Therefore, the Deputy Prime Minister assigned ACV, the Ministry of Transport and the Committee of State Capital Management at Enterprises to have a comprehensive report on the implementation of investment and construction of the Long Thanh Airport project up to now.
Regarding the proposal to extend the implementation time of the 5.10 package, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested that: ACV coordinated with the Ministry of Transport to complete the report which must contain sufficient proofs why to extend the implementation of the bidding package to 39 months. Those facilities must be consulted by technical consulting units, after completing the dossiers, submitted to the Ministry of Planning and Investment to advise the Government.
