|
|
On behalf of the Vedan Group,
Mr. Tou Shiung Yang gave his thanks for the deep concern and warm welcome from
the leaders in the province. He also apologized for the environmental incident
caused by Vedan 2 years ago. Mr. Tou Shiung Yang said Vedan was trying to
improve its image by investing in production systems that meet environmental
standards. He added that a number of foreign partners now wanted to cooperate
with Vedan to expand production scale and that Vedan planned to provide housing
for workers. Therefore, Yang expressed his desire to be able to receive support
from local state agencies in the future.
Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai
appreciated and encouraged Vedan’s idea of expanding investment and providing
housing for workers in Dong Nai and added that Dong Nai would soon complete and
put into operation Highway 51 as well as upgrade transport infrastructure along
with trading ports, which would facilitate goods transportation. Also, the
provincial leaders pledged to create favorable conditions for Vedan to invest in
Dong Nai.
