Training on
Mother-to-Child HIV Infection Prevention at the Health Department |
As known, the HIV/AIDS
Prevention Project having started launching since 2006 and valid until 2012
is mainly aimed at preventing HIV/AIDS infections in communities, especially
in high-risk subjects in the localities. The project is launched to supply
syringes and injection needles, and clean condoms to high-risk subjects,
such as drug addicts and prostitutes; offer checkups and treatments and give
medications on sex-related infective diseases to waitresses and stewardesses
in restaurants and hotels.
In addition, ethnic people
with opportunistic infective diseases in some communes in Trang Bom such as
Cay Gao, Bau Ham and Song Thao received checkups and treatments via the
project. Six localities where the project is conducted are all equipped with
clinic, voluntary, secret and free consulting. Accordingly, anyone who comes
to receive checkups will have their behaviors potentially causing HIV/AIDS
infection risk consulted and then medical staff will conduct blood tests and
return the results within 10 days.
