Coffee price rises slightly
After going down in two months, at present, coffee price for sale in Dong Nai is between VND24,000 and VND25,000/kg, up VND2,000 to VND3,000 over the early March.

To make profits from planting coffee, farmers have applied science to boost yield.
According owners of coffee gardens, with this coffee price now, growers just make profits from VND4 million  to VND6 million/hectare. Meanwhile, across the province, there are about 17,000 hectares of fruiting coffee trees, but many of them are old and stunted, producing modest average yield of 1.6 tons/hectare. As supposed, in the next crop, coffee yield tends to decrease because coffee price goes down in long time whereby farmers reduce investment to cut down expenses. Besides, according to experts, coffee price is not likely to rise sharply in the coming time, for two world leaders in production of green coffee Brazil and Indonesia will harvest in June and July.
