On Jan. 30, 2010 morning, at the conference hall of the provincial Party Committee, Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology (DOST) held a seminar and meeting with scientists, fellows, collaborators, retired personnel working in the field of science and technology. Attending it were Mr. Huynh Van Toi, Head of Department of Propaganda and Training, Mr. Dinh Quoc Thai, Vice-Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and over 200 scientists, collaborators, retired personnel from localities across the province.

On January 17, at Ha Noi Opera House, the ISO Gold Cup Awarding Ceremony was held by Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Associations, funded and steered by the National Assembly’s Committee of Science, Technology and Environment.

On Jan. 17 morning, at the conference hall of the Ministry of National Defense, Vietnam General Bureau of Standards, Measurement, and Quality solemnly hold an awarding ceremony of Vietnam National Quality and the International Asia-Pacific Quality Award 2009.

On January 14 morning, Nhon Trach District People’s Committee held a summation conference to wrap up scientific and technological contest programs in 2009. Attending the conference were the Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Science and Technology Pham Gia Hai, leaders of Nhon Trach District People’s Committee and contestants.

In 2009, Inspectors of Department of Science and Technology had held 25 inspection turns, focusing on measurement, quality and goods label, intelligence property, radiation security in 309 units. Via inspection, they detected 27 violating agencies and VND195,300 thousand of fine has been handed to State Treasury.

On the morning of December 22, the “Building the development model of high-yield beef cattle breeds to serve socio-economic development in two mountainous communes in Trang Bom district – An Vien and Doi 61” project led by Nguyen Thi Thanh – Engineer and Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Trang Bom district was accepted and ranked grade B by the Council for Science and Technology.

On the evening of December 17, the APICTA Awards 2009 was held in the Crown Palladium Hotel in Melbourne, Australia. The Awards was attended by Senator Stephen Conroy, Minister of Broadband, Communications and Digital Economy, and many officials from regional countries.

On December 11, Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology held a training class entitled “Protection of Invention and exploit of intelligence property information” to nearly 100 trainees representing enterprises, departments, branches, departments of economy, departments of trade and industry of districts across the province.

On the afternoon of December 1, Scientific and Technological Application Center, Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology, cooperated with Thong Nhat People's Committee in launching the project "Energy Efficiency in Thong Nhat District”. This is a pilot energy-saving project approved by Dong Nai People’s Committee in February, 2009.

With public presentations about information technology application capability awareness in offices, wards, communes, on November 29, 27 candidates in the contest had exciting competitions.
