Going forward to the quarterfinal round were its two teams out of eight ones, including LH – BEE and LH – LED. In the first match, LH – LED convincingly beat BKIT – LIGHTLING (Ho Chi Minh city University of Technology) by the score of 80 -57 and won the first ticket to the semifinal. In the second one, LH – BEE played against SD – PRO (Sao Do University). With worse SD PRO, LH – BEE won Pharaoh to go forward to the semifinal.
In the semifinal, LH – BEE played against LH – LED. Eventually, LH – LED won by the score of 70 – 48 to go forward to final round to compete with VOI 03 - Ha Noi University of Industry, which won in the second semifinal earlier)
In the final round, LH – LED defeated VOI 03 by the score of 64-57 to become the champion and represent Vietnam at the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest scheduled to take place in Cairo , Egypt , in September.
Besides the championship with VND40 million prize, Lac Hong University got the third prize (with VND10 million) of LH-BEE; US$1000 prize from the Asia-Pacific Broadcast and Television Union (ABU) and VND10 million prize of Dak Lak province People’s Committee.
The theme of Robocon Vietnam 2010 of the South is “Robo-Pharaohs build pyramids” with 86 teams, including 17 teams who are free participants and 69 teams from 14 universities, colleges, and technical secondary schools. Robocon 2010 is organized by Vietnam Television and sponsored by Toyota Co.
Lac Hong University left an impression on 8 teams going forward to the final of Robocon 2010 (including LH BEE, LH LED, LH – S2EN, LH EROS, LH 07 STAR, LH – THD, LH – VLC, LH – KING SIZE), Ho Chi Minh city University of Technology with 4 teams (BKIT BOMBY, BKIT LIGHTNING, BK M&A, BKIT 4U) winning victories.
