This year, ISO Gold Cup was awarded to 57 units gaining notable achievements in applying international standard management system in production, services, which have been selected from 400 enterprises across the nation. The units voted by the board of judges are organizations, enterprises that have acted dynamically in advancing their management system and applying science and technology advances to enhance service quality and serve their production and business; competed healthily and had useful contributions to natural and environmental protection when the world all around are aiming to overcome climate change.
ISO Gold Cup award is professional acknowledgement of administrators, leading experts in technique and quality in the country for applying management systems of winning enterprises.
Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is the only state administration unit that had the honor of winning ISO Gold Cup Award this year.
By acting dynamically for the course of science and technology of the country in general and the province in particular and making contributions to public administrative reform in the current trend, DOST has showed its strength and success in applying management systems such as ISO 9001:2008 Quality management system and ISO 27001:2005 Security Management System. Those are two management systems aimed at helping Department’s management be implemented strictly, operated quickly and conveniently, meeting higher demands of organizations, citizens working with it.
Being aware of rapid development of information technology and necessity of an international standard management system application to meet higher demands in work, in 2005, the Department has been the first unit in the nation to deploy establishment of ISO 9000 quality management system in the form of online ISO. By 2007, it deployed establishment of ISO 27001:2005 information security management system. With this application, it is known as a unit with information highly secured when issue of information has become more serious in the world.
Establishing ISO 27001:2005 information security management system had been carried out DOST in two years by its cadres. By 2009, its information security management system has been certified by DAS certification. This achievement has make DOST become the first administrative unit in the nation to be certified for its ISO 27001:2005 information security management system.
To apply and operate systems well, DOST itself designed softwares such as M-Office electronic office and assisting software for information security management system. These softwares have been awarded many precious prizes and brought a lot of success to DOST.
The first participation in ISO Gold Cup Award and pride in winning the award is a proof for DOST’s development and maturity in applying international standard management systems.
With its inner power and future development trend, DOST will contribute substantially to the development of science and technology of the nation in general and the province in particular when Vietnam joins WTO.
