Business representatives give speeches during the talk |
Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai Standing Party Committee, Le Hong Phuong and Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee, Dinh Quoc Thai attended the talk.Due to rapid
urbanization, small manufacturers fail to find sites for production expansion. Besides, during the implementation to make plans for the development of pottery
craft, the infrastructure investment progress for the Tan Hanh pottery and
porcelain complex slowed down, which caused problems of relocating.
For this
reason, the number of small manufacturers declined.
In 2000, Dong Nai had 89 art
pottery manufacturers but this number in 2006 went down to 61.
The pottery
industry had an average growth rate of 11.9% over the 2001-to-2006 period and
that between 2007 and 2009 was 8%.
During the
talk, pottery business representatives in Dong Nai raised the issues concerning
a lack of capital and a shortage of laborers that they are faced with.
Businesses also proposed that there should be assistance regarding capital, laborers
and market for them and that the appropriate policies of relocating should be
established to ensure that their production will not be interrupted.
Delivering his
conclusive speech at the talk, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee,
Dinh Quoc Thai commended pottery businesses for their overcoming recent
difficulties and for their gaining a firm foothold in the market.
Thai requested
that Bien Hoa municipal authorities focus on giving directions on how Tan Hanh pottery and porcelain complex will be transferred to businesses and that
Bien Hoa Municipal People's Committee collaborate with the Department of Trade
and Industry and the Pottery Association in planning the best itinerary of
relocating and in setting up a specific project to assist pottery businesses.
